A rehab facility or alcohol treatment center is where you are helped to break bad habits. If you committed a crime, you could end up in a penitentiary, but if the judge was a nice dude, you could be sentenced to do time in rehab. Not that there is much of a difference anyway; really, it's hard to tell which is worse. Living in an alcohol treatment facility takes some patience and understanding yourself. You must realize that you are here for help; you cannot have everything you need. The attendants will likely dote on you, but that is as far as they will go. You are there for help, and that is just what you will get from them. Various rehab centers may have various processes for carrying out their functions. They all understand that their patients may act strange, so they all have processes in place for emergency communication. But for the most part, they just stick to protocol, and you gradually heal. As a drunk, spending time in alcohol reform might not be your favorite experience but you will agree that it was the best thing that ever happened to you. That of course is unless you really did not want to break your drinking habit in the first place. There are lots of associations that operate jointly in the United States to solve problems relating drunkenness, or at least address them. They make reasonable headway but much of their findings would be just talk without the practical assistance offered drunkards by alcohol treatment centers. If you have a friend or relative with a liquor problem, you should nip it in the bud. You might not have seen it from the start, but the moment you do, you need to find a way to get that person to an alcohol treatment center. Do that, or lose them forever to the bottle. Becoming a habitual drunk is rather expensive. Let's start with the cost of the liquor itself, there is also the cost of the damage you do when you are 'down under'. And the worst part, the emotional expenses when your loved one leaves you because they cannot stand you any more. And leave you they will. And in the end of it all, you will come to your senses and realize that you need to pay for rehab, and you will. Have you ever wondered why a lot of celebrities tend to spend a lot of time in rehabilitation centers? Well you should - not meaning that you will get an easy answer. It could be for the scenery, for the peace and solace, for the distance from paparazzi, or just for a change. Seems like a good idea, don't it?
